All of our Instructors have ambulance backgrounds and teach in a fun and lively way and focus on what you really need to know. We want to focus on as much practical work as possible during the class- all your skills assessments are by practical demonstrations, oral and multiple-choice questions and online pre-course study. Students must also be physically able to work at floor level to complete timed CPR assessments.
Who should do this course?
This course is suitable for anyone that needs HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for work or personal interest. Some other job roles, such as child-care educators, educational assistants and teachers and industry groups may also require annual CPR training to keep their HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID012 Provide First Aid In An Education And Care Setting qualifications valid.
Outcome
Successful students will be awarded their Statement of Attainment (Certificate).

Enrolment And Pre-course Online Study Requirements
All students will be provided with their own personal online portal space to complete the required enrolment and blended self-paced pre-course study requirements. Most students should allow up to one hour to complete this.
We also provide a client level portal that allows the client to view and store first aid certificates, check expiry dates for all employees and many more features that can make managing your companies first aiders much easier.
The duration of the face to face classroom session is 1 hour and the student must be physically able to work at floor level and be able to complete at least 2 minutes of CPR on an adult manikin. Any student with concerns about the physical requirements should contact us prior to enrolment to discuss this.
Assessment Requirements
Classroom session is onsite at your venue.
Practical assessment by demonstration, observation and oral questions
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position) with adult manikins placed on the floor for at least 2 minutes duration
- Perform CPR on an infant manikins
- Infection control management
- Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
- Managing the unconscious breathing casualty
- Demonstrating safe manual handling techniques
- Providing a verbal report of the incident
